Iran Women Rugby IV achieves second place in Germany
Iran women's national team Under 22 years participated in the Quartet tournament in Germany in Berlin. The team achieved the second place after two wins and one loss.
The results were as follows:
Iran (39) BSV (0)
Iran (5) RKRUGBY KLUB (19)
Iran (26) USV POTSDAM (0)
In the first game against the national team BSV, resulted in 39 to zero for Iran. Iran team scored 7 tries and 2 conversions to overwhelm the opponents.
In the second game, the national team was against the hosts RKRUGBY KLUB. This was a high level & challenging game that the Iranian side was defeated.
In the final game against USV POTSDAM, the national team stepped up to the challenge and overcame their opponent with a convincing score of 26 to zero.
Injuries to players were immediately treated to in order to be available for the following matches over the next days. Iran Rugby association is proud & thanks all its players/coaches for their commitment and high level of professionalism shown in this tournament.
In friendly test matches, Iranian U-18 national women team is praised by the Germans
One win and one loss against the German U-18 national team by the Iranian lionesses
At the invitation of the German Rugby federation, the Iranian women U18 team attended the national camp in Berlin. They enthusiastically participated in the two day event, including three joint training sessions and two friendly matches with the German national team.
Due to injury of some players in the previous tournament, the team in the first match was challenged to its highest levels at the international levels. This match was won by the German hosts 17 to 5.
After a break of one hour, the two teams met again, in the final match of this German tour for the Iranian team. The Iranian Lionesses were able to surprise the German team and their South African coach by winning 17 to 10. This concluded a successful tournament and demonstrated the potential for the Iran Rugby Women at the highest level of world Rugby.
